Colt provided a natural ventilation and dual purpose smoke control system at high level utilising high performance Coltlite CLT thermally broken glass louvred ventilator. Colt scope of works included installation, sealing, wiring and controls which were linked into the main BMS system. A unique feature to this project was the Coltlite electric motors which were installed on the outside of the unit open to the elements, therefore needing to be totally waterproof. This was to facilitate easier and safer maintenance which could be conducted from the outside. Stainless steel insect guard was also installed on the internal side of the units thus making the cleaning of the glazing much easier.
The Coltlite LWT is a thermally broken frame with thermally broken glass louvres and has a U value of just 1.8W/m2k and is classed to EN 12101-2 as a dual purpose smoke control ventilator.
